Priced at Rs. 5.44 lakh for the single cab and Rs. 6.34 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Thane, Maharashtra) for the double cab variant the commercial version of the Xenon Pick-up is all set to take on the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment in India The Tata Xenon XT pick-up has been on the market for a while and has carved a niche for itself as an urban lifestyle pick-up truck. A hefty price tag and refinement issues have restricted its sales however.
Tata has now introduced two commercial variants of the Xenon, adding to a model range that includes the Super Ace, RX pick-up and Xenon CNG. The new vehicle is distinguished by its RX style design on the 3-side drop load body and steel wheels.
Priced at Rs 5.44 lakh for the single cab and Rs 6.34 lakh for the double cab variant (prices ex-showroom Thane, Maharashtra), the Xenon pick-up commercial variant costs Rs 3.01 lakh less than the Xenon XT 4X2 double cab.
The massive price cut has been enabled by the engine. While the Xenon XT is powered by the more expensive and refined 2.2-litre DiCOR engine, the commercial Xenon pick-up is powered by Tata’s 3.0-litre common-rail engine, which in the single cab variant produces 73PS of power and 223Nm of torque. The double cab version is powered by the same 3.0-litre engine with a turbocharger that helps it churn out 116PS of power and 300Nm of torque. Both versions have a top speed of 120km/h.
